Hi everyone! Here's a space research lab created as part of my game art course. This is the first (finished) environment I've done in Unreal Engine. I was responsible for every aspect of this project from concept to modeling, UVing, texturing, lighting, etc. It was a lot of work getting to understand the program (especially on the lighting and FX side) but it was loads of fun getting to create this environment. I was heavily inspired by "Halo" and "Alien Isolation" for this particular piece, the former from its Forerunner architecture and how simple geometric shapes are used to create more complex, intervowen patterns and the latter for capturing the desolate, dystopian vibes of space and human and alien experimentation. Visually, I was heavily inspired by more semi realistic style games such as "Overwatch" and "Fortnite" for how they're able to effectively communicate striking environments in a less realistic style. This entire environment was created in 10 weeks, and while I want to add so much more to this piece, I'm happy with the work that came out of this environment. Enjoy!
